Men are notorious for procrastinating and with Halloween quickly approaching and under a week away odds are a few of us are just now putting our costumes together. This is the finale of a two part series that will serve as the perfect inspiration when you’re shopping for your costume this year.
When it comes to men’s Halloween costumes taking a topical or humorous approach usually pays off. Movies and TV shows provide great examples of where to look for costume inspiration.
With that in mind here are five simple, yet unique costume ideas that you can put together at your local exchange shop or thrift store:
1) Any male Star Wars character
You don’t need to be sensitive to the force to sense a pattern here. Star Wars is still all the rage after last week’s final trailer debut and ticket release so why not take advantage of that and go as one of the pantheon of characters from the Star Wars saga. From iconic characters such as Luke Skywalker, to Obi Wan Kenobi, to Darth Vader, Han Solo, and Chewbacca your choices certainly won’t be limited.
2) Owen Grady from Jurassic World
A character played by one of the world’s biggest stars in to the point the biggest movie of the year. If this isn’t a slam dunk I don’t know what is. With this easy to put together costume you’ll be a shoo-in to become the alpha of your raptor squad.
3) Daredevil, the Netflix version of course
Earlier this year Netflix released their first show in conjunction with Marvel, Daredevil. Now not only was the show massive hit with fans and critics alike it helped bring a gritty, atmospheric tone to the Marvel Cinematic Universe that fans had yet to see. With memorable characters and costumes that looked like they were ripped straight out of a comic book you’ll definitely look awesome as the devil of Hell’s Kitchen.
4) The Flash
Right up there with Daredevil as one of the best superhero shows on television; the CW’s The Flash boasts heart, a diverse cast of characters, and special effects that are usually reserved for the big screen. Barry Allen won’t only inspire you to a better person, he’ll make you want to run your Halloween party in a flash.
5) Jon Snow dead or alive
Arguably the most popular character on the most popular show currently on television a Jon Snow costume will definitely be a great conversation starter. I mean he’s definitely dead right? Or is he? You can never know for sure with Game of Thrones.
